I know many of you have questions about our trip to France and Italy with EF Educational Tours scheduled to depart in March 2021. I regret to inform you that our scheduled tour will no longer be running, due to cancellation by the school division. I have been in contact with EF Educational Tours about our options and wanted to share the latest updates. Please read this note fully as it breaks down our current options and necessary next steps.
Here is a quick preview of the options that EF Educational Tours is offering our group:
1.Future Travel Voucher
EF’s Peace of Mind Program has been extended to protect your investments during these uncertain times, and this includes the option to opt for a Future Travel Voucher. Any traveller choosing this option will be issued a Future Travel Voucher for all amounts paid including the $199 non-refundable deposit and the $189 Global Travel Protection Plan (Late Payment fees and all other non-refundable fees will not be included). Future Travel Vouchers are fully transferable and can also be redeemed for travel on other EF products for two years. You can find the full list of available products, as well as more information about EF's reaction to COVID-19, here. The voucher can also be used if there are any tours running from our school in 2022. Please note that at this time there are no tours confirmed for 2022, but EF has told me that in the event of a 2022 tour, families wouldn't be charged again for the $199 non-refundable registration fees if a student was supposed to go on the 2021 trip.
2.Standard Cancellation
If you decide not to take a travel voucher and would like to cancel your tour, information about EF’s standard cancellation fees can be found in EF’s Booking Conditions.
If you have purchased the Global Travel Protection Plan, you may be entitled to a refund as per the policy. Should you choose to file an insurance claim, you will need to submit a claim to the insurance company directly. EF will supply the necessary forms, and you can find RETSD's cancellation letter here. An official cancellation letter will be required during the insurance claim process.
Please note the assessment of any and all claims rests with the insurance company, and when a claim is initiated, you will not recover the actual cost of the insurance policy or any non-refundable amounts (including but not limited to the non-refundable deposit of $199).
If you log in to your traveller's account, you should be able to select one of the options offered to you. You can also call EF directly for any inquiries. EF's contact information can be found under the CONTACTpage.
I know you may still have questions. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me after having contacted EF TOURS if you still have further questions or concerns.
