A letter from the France/Italy 2021 Parent Fundraising Committee (November 2019)
Dear Travellers, Parents/Guardians,
Last week we held a meeting with everyone who signed up to be on the fundraising committee to discuss possible fundraising opportunities for the 2021 France/Italy School Trip. Many options were discussed and we have chosen a few that we feel would be beneficial in assisting families raise funds to offset some of the travel costs.
In order to be fair and transparent, net profits raised by each student will be credited towards their personal account. The Parent Fundraising Committee is committed to ensure all funds raised by each student is credited towards their account. For any instances where there is a pool of funds collected (eg, Silent auction, raffles, CPET staff participation etc.) the funds will be divided equally among the families involved with that specific event.
Attached is a list of the various fundraising events the committee is proposing. We are asking each family to complete the attached form by indicating which fundraising events your family is interested in participating in and return the form to Mme Sabrina Fernandes at the school by December 2,2019. This information will assist the fundraising committee on decided if there will be enough participants in the event of potential minimum sales.
Below is a list of events we are in the process of researching to get the maximum fundraising earnings for each family.
Bothwell Cheese & Winnipeg Old Country Sales:
We are looking at taking order immediately to kick start our fundraising events with delivery in a couple weeks. We will also be looking at doing this fundraiser again in November 2020.
Paint Night:
This will be open to everyone/all ages. We are still in the process of securing a date, but are looking for January/February 2020 dates. If you haven’t tried a paint night we highly recommend it. No experience is necessary. The return profit will be approximately $7-10 per adult ticket sold. More information to follow.
Cash Calendars:
We are looking at doing this in Spring. Our plan is to try and get sponsors for our calendars. If we are successful in getting sponsors the profit will be almost 100% as well will only have printing fee.
Booster Juice & Kernels Popcorn:
This is planned for May/June 2020.
Kernels Popcorn profit $1.00 per bag
Booster Juice profit $1.00 per coupon
Gold Card:
June 2020 with orders taken over the summer and handed in early September. They have a variety of coupons from local business for instant savings. Some are one time use, several are multiple use. Cost is $20 with a return profit of $10. Previously anyone who sold 10 cards got 3 free which you can sell at 100% profit. We are waiting to hear back from them to see if this is still being offered. These cards are a great value and can fit in your wallet.
Quiz Night:
This date is booked for October 24, 2020. Quizmasters will have you at the edge of your seat while you complete against other teams. Teams consist of 8 people per table. Profit will be around $15 per ticket depending on the cost to run the event which fluctuates based on the number of tickets (teams) registered. We will send out more information at a later date.
Grey Cup Tickets:
Tickets will be sold in October/November 2020 and will be sold for $5.00 a ticket. Profit will be approximately $3.00 per ticket. A Maximum of 900 tickets will be available. If there is enough interest we may consider running two Grey Cup Raffles.
